Privacy Policy
Effective 10/16/2026 · ROS Church Finder, a project of Return on Stewardship (“ROS,” “we,” “us”)
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and sign-in details when you create an account.
- Seeker profile answers: the optional questionnaire — contact details and preferred contact method, city and ZIP code, age group (never your exact birth date), stage of life, faith background, who is coming with you, children’s first names with age groups and grade bands, what matters most to you in a church, and how you found us.
- Introductions and visit plans: when you connect with a church or plan a visit, the church you chose, your optional message, a question for the church, and whether you asked to be met at the door.
- Care & prayer requests: only on a claimed church’s page — the topics you choose, your optional note, and your contact details, sent to that church.
- Reviews: your structured scores and short comments about a visit, moderated before any part is shown.
- Basic technical data: standard logs and cookies needed to run the site and keep it secure.
What we never collect
Your street address. Your exact date of birth. Your children’s last names, schools, or photos. Your income, employer, or giving history. Your immigration or citizenship status.
How your information is used
To match you with churches, to prepare the welcome for a planned visit, to show churches how guests experience them (in summary), and to run and improve this service. We do not sell your personal information.
Draft for legal review — not in effect
Aggregate reporting (draft)
With your permission, the answers you give in the optional questionnaire may be combined with other seekers’ answers to prepare summary reports about what people looking for a church actually need — for example, how many seekers in an area want a church with a children’s program, or which languages they are searching in.
- What is included: the answers themselves, grouped together — never one person’s responses on their own.
- What is never included: your name, email address, phone number, street address or ZIP code, your children’s names, and anything you write in a free-text note. No reader of a report can identify you from it.
- Who sees it: churches and community partners receive summary statistics only, never an individual record.
- Small groups are withheld: a group smaller than a fixed minimum is never reported separately, so a report cannot point at a handful of people.
- Your choice: this is optional and separate from any church contact permission. You can leave it unticked and still use everything else, and you can change your mind at any time in your seeker profile or by contacting us, after which your answers are left out of future reports.
This is a draft prepared for the owner’s legal review. It takes effect — and the matching consent box in the questionnaire starts being used for it — only after that review. Nothing is included in an aggregate report today.
Who sees what
- A church sees your information only when you choose that church and give permission — for example, connecting, planning a visit, or sending a care request. A church sees only its own introductions and requests, never another church’s.
- Care & prayer requests go only to the church you sent them to. They are not routed to or read by the ROS team.
- Reviews: seekers see published summaries only; the church sees its own summaries and private notes; reviewers’ contact details are never shown to churches.
- We can access information as needed to operate, moderate, and protect the service.
Your choices
You can view, edit, or withdraw your seeker profile in your account at any time. You can decline to share your profile with any church — answering the questionnaire never requires sharing it. For any other access or deletion request, contact us at mani@returnonstewardship.com.
Children
This service is for adults (18+). Children’s information is limited to a first name, age group, and grade band, provided by a parent or guardian solely so a church can welcome the child well, and it is shared only with a church the parent chooses and permits.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and its effective date.
